Mission

We Bring Joy to Children Through Theater

Vision

A world where the children of all ages have access to the arts and use their abilities to build a society that recognizes the value of the arts in improving the quality of life.

All Dare to Dream Theatre programming is designed to introduce participants and audiences to theatre, highlight academic learning, explore the art form and connect with the community to share a message, and finally create, perform, and produce high quality experiences accessible to all throughout the community.

Brief History

Dare to Dream Theatre is a non-profit process-based youth theatre company rooted in education and dedicated to bringing joy to children while helping them find and share their voices with the world. We serve the community through multi-generational theatrical experiences, highlighting growth and learning at all levels of development.

Founded in 2001, the first programming took place at Wisconsin Lutheran College in the form of theatre classes for kids developed by two WLC students: an Education major, and a Theatre major. In 2006 Dare to Dream Theatre received 501.c.3 status and moved headquarters into their current home on the corner of 10th at St. Clair in Manitowoc WI, a church building that has been remodeled into a 164 seat theatre.

In 2013 Dare to Dream Theatre expanded their reach to serve families in Sheboygan County as well as Manitowoc County, offering programming in both communities.

Dare to Dream Theatre has been enriching the lives of children through the art of live theatre since 2001, staging more than 80 shows to date, bringing youth groups to national theater festivals, and working with area educators to bring learning to life.
