The Actor in You Series is designed to help young people discover their unique voice as a performer by exploring literacy skills, life skills, and stage skills.
Classes will be held on Saturdays at Mead Public Library
Begins March 25
Level 1
Grades pre-K & Kindergarten
Times: Saturday Mornings (Times TBA)
Location: Mead Public Library
Cost: $25 (4 sessions, each 30 minutes long)
Take a trip through the Magic Doorway into a different story each week. Using mind, voice, body, and imagination, enter each story while building your budding stage skills.
Level 2
Grades 1-2
Times: Saturday Afternoon (Times TBA)
Location: Mead Public Library
$45 (5 sessions each 45 minutes long)
Work together with fellow performers as we explore scenes from popular literature adapted for the stage. Each session will build stage skills as we work towards a short play that will be performed for parents at an informance - an informal performance on the last day of the class.
* There may be an additional opportunity to perform this scene at the Student Theater Celebration at the end of the school year.
Level 3
Grades 3-5
Times: Saturday Afternoon (Times TBA)
Location: Mead Public Library
$50 (5 sessions each 60 minutes long)
Take your performing skills to the next level as we explore ways to build character onstage. This level will begin to explore professional acting techniques applies to scenes that will be performed for parents at an informance - an informal performance on the last day of the class.
* There may be an additional opportunity to perform this scene at the Student Theater Celebration at the end of the school year.
Level 4
Grades 6-9
Times: Saturday Afternoon (Times TBA)
Location: Mead Public Library
$50 (5 sessions each 60 minutes long)
This small group acting class will meet the performer at their level, pairing them up with another student to apply professional acting methods to a scene that will be performed for parents at an informance - an informal performance on the last day of the class.
* There may be an additional opportunity to perform this scene at the Student Theater Celebration at the end of the school year.
Advanced
High School and Adults (by audition)
Times: TBA
Location: TBA
This small group of experienced performers will explore scenes selected to challenge each individual and help them advance their skills to the next level.
Scenes may be performed in an information public location.
Dare to Dream Theatre wishes to make all our programming affordable and accessible to all youth who desire to participate.
To that effort, we provide a limited number of scholarship enrollments both to new and returning participants each year along with opportunities for Financial Assistance.
At Dare to Dream Theatre, every child will be able to reach for their dreams.
